Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) is an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
PDD-NOS is a milder form of Autism. Children are diagnosed with PDD-NOS when they have autistic characteristics, but not enough of them to be diagnosed as autistic or Asperger. Common symptoms include appearing unemotional when speaking to others, trouble holding eye contact and difficulty managing change. Individuals with PDD-NOS have the same range of metabolic, immune and digestive disorders common in other ASDs.
